LSBM aims to provide all students with an accessible and supportive learning environment. Our teaching is student-centred and encourages optimum learning through a combination of problem-based and collaborative learning techniques.
Classrooms :
All classes take place within the campus of Birkbeck college, University of London, providing LSBM students with contemporary learning facilities and well-lit class rooms.
Small Learning Groups:
LSBM limits the number of pupils in each class which helps create a friendly and active learning environment for students and ensures that lecturers are available to answer any student queries.
LSBM Managed learning Environment (MLE):
To enhance Student Learning, LSBM is committed to the development of a Managed Learning Environment (MLE) by making effective use of communications and Information Technology. The LSBM MLE provides students with personalised access to appropriate administrative data and academic resources. Students can use the MLE to access Course Information, Lecture Notes, Examination Timetables, and general college information.
Course Tutorials:
Each student will receive individual attention from a senior member of lecturing staff on a 1 to 1 basis to address any key issues that may arise throughout their course.
In addition, plenary tutorials are also provided for assessment feedback and revision sessions.
Student Development:
Student Development is included as a compulsory module in all programmes to encourage students to monitor and recognize their own learning achievements. This is an essential tool which enhances LSBM student’s ability to plan and develop their personal and professional development.
Student development is a recognized process which supports each student to optimize their approach to learning. In addition professional development can enhance graduate employability.
