| The student services department offers a range of support, information and advice services to enable students to gain optimal value and enjoyment from their time spent at LSBM. Student support is an impartial service open to all students at LSBM. We offer a broad range of information and documentation relating to accommodation, healthcare, bank accounts, social activities, flexible employment and career development.
Accommodation
LSBM encourages all new students to have their accommodation arrangements in place before arriving at the college. The Student Services Coordinator is available to help new and existing students to find accommodation. The college makes use of a network of professional agencies that specialise in placing students in suitable and affordable housing that is within easy reach of the campus. If students do require assistance finding accommodation, it is recommended that they inform LSBM as early as possible about their requirements by contacting student services and completing an application for accommodation form, which can be downloaded from the LSBM website.
Types of Accommodation
There are a range of accommodation options available to students living in London:
|
 |
Host Accommodation
LSBM offers hosted student accommodation thanks to close relationships with various organisations that specialise in providing home-stays throughout London. This type of accommodation involves living within a family or working professional home and may include prepared meals if required. International students often choose to live in host accommodation short-term, on arriving in London to help them adapt more easily into British culture.
Student Halls of Residences
This option is usually self-catering, and offers a room within a student-orientated community. Student Halls are purpose built student accommodation blocks which are usually situated close to college campuses and equipped with shared facilities such as kitchens, laundries, bathrooms and recreational areas. More independent students might prefer to stay in a student flat or residence.
Letting Property
For more independent students or those who are familiar with living in the UK, they may choose to rent accommodation privately, or with friends. LSBM can offer links to letting agencies specialising in more affordable properties for students.
Validation of full-time student status at LSBM:
As part of the student services department we provide supporting documentation to validate your full-time student status at LSBM. This will enable you to register with a General Health Practitioner and receive NHS treatment, open a bank account, apply for a NI number, receive Council tax exemption and apply for student discounts on travel and other products.
Information and Enquiries
We offer an accessible information and advice service on a variety of matters including; discounts available to students and how to apply, employment for International students, how to open a bank account, registering for healthcare, police registration etc.
