Dr. Rosemary Skordoulis / College Principal
Rosemary Skordoulis has been a HE lecturer and manager for years in academic institutions in Greece, the UK and USA. She has taught Business and Management, ESP, EAP and Teaching Methodology in business schools and holds a PhD in Management from the University of Aberdeen Business School. She has institutional affiliations with the University of Aberdeen, University of East London, London Metropolitan University and Queens University in NY, USA. Her research interests are in organisational behaviour, change management, soft skills and strategy formation, higher education management with special emphasis on business schools, emotional intelligence, HRM as well as teaching/learning development issues. She has published numerous articles in scholarly books and refereed journals.
Mr. Aliar Hossain (Conference Co-ordinator):
Aliar Hossain is the PgD Course Leader & MBA Supervisor at LSBM. He has visited numerous UK and Asian Universities and Colleges as a Speaker for Effective Management, CSR, Leadership Development, Personal Development, Corporate Culture and Sustainable Development. Aliar is a Member of the Institute of Consulting (part of the Chartered Management Institute) and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (under 35’s). He is also managing and contributing to a project named "Seed of Possibilities" which is concerned with poverty eradication and social development in the South Asian region. Aliar has published several papers. His new book "Sustainable Development Handbook - A South Asian Perspective" is now available both online and retail market across the world.
He is also running his own consultancy firm (Regents Consulting Services Ltd), which specialises in teaching and training for organisations wishing to incorporate CSR ethos into their business model, creatively integrating economic, social and environmental issues. Aliar has over 7 years of teaching, consulting and corporate training experience with various organisations and sectors related to business and management challenges gained in different countries including the EU, the Middle East and South Asia.
Professor Jonathan Liu:
Jonathan Liu is Regent College’s International Visiting Professor in Global Business Management where he teaches and researches in Entrepreneurship and Venture Management. Jonathan is also Academic Director of London College of Advanced Management where he leads a team of academic professionals in the delivery of professional and academic courses. Jonathan commenced his academic career as lecturer at Aston University and moved to Middlesex University as a senior lecturer in Accounting and Finance. After a decade at Middlesex he became their Professor of Chinese Management, and researched in performance management and managerial development. He joined Newport University in 2006 and was the Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise before joining Regent’s College in 2008. Jonathan supervises PhD students at the London School of Commence in the area of Finance and Management. He is a Faculty member of Global Marketing Network and a member of its membership committee.
Jonathan is the Executive Editor of the International Journal of Business Performance Management with Inderscience Publishers. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Training and Management Development Methods, Editorial Committee for Management at Foxwell and Davis Publishers and book review editor of the Journal of Technology Management in China. He has published extensively and has over a hundred articles and eight books published in subject areas relating to Business and Management. Jonathan is on the Council of the National Conference of Universities Professors, Council member of the Universities China Committee in London, and a Board Member of the Directors of Ming-Ai (London) Education Institute.
Prof. J R Monroy:
J R Monroy graduated with honor in History and studied Sociology and Law at the University of Chile, former Professor of Sociology at the Universities of Chile and State Technical University (Santiago), Chile, and ex-Professor of Sociology at the Universities of Ricardo Palma and National University of Education, Master Programme, Lima Peru. Founder of the Latin American and Caribbean Cultural Society (LACCS). Editor and Founder of the diplomatic publication "Nuevo Mundo 2000" (New World 2000). He received the "Heads of Mission Award", in 1995 and 2000, in recognition for his persisting efforts to upgrade a cooperative diplomatic community in the U.K. he Awards were presented by Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of Slovenia and Ukraine respectively.
J R Monroy has given lectures in Vietnam, Czech Republic, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Malta. At present he is working in a book: What we can learn from 200 years of Independence in Latin America? And is currently Chairman of LACCS.
Barrister Vick Krishnan
Vick is a highly experienced Trainer and Coach with extensive background in People Management in both Commercial and Education industry working closely with Directors and Senior Management. He is commercially focused and credible. He is a key member of a wide range of transformation teams in the field of Corporate Training.
As a Barrister and a Principal Lecturer in Law and Business subjects, he has a rich background spanning almost twenty years in the teaching, delivery and management of both law and business courses in both the public and private education industry.
Dr. Hasanat Hussain (MBE)
Hasanat M. Husain is a distinguished academic, having previously held the post of Associate Professor at both the University of Dhaka (Bangladesh) and University of Zambia. Formerly an Associate of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste (Italy) and Head of Solar Energy at the University of Sebha (Libya), he is working to improve educational standards in the UK as Consultant to the DfES Standards Unit, Inspector for Colleges and Managing Director of HH Educational Consultancy.
He has made significant contribution to ethnic minority education in the Great Britain and as recognition, was awarded Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by Her Majesty the Queen in 2003.
He is also a Human Rights Activist and founder of voice for justice. He is involved with lots of community and charitable activities.
Mr. Reza Aboutalebi
Reza Aboutalebi joined LSBM in 2009, having previously been at the University of Manchester. He is doing his PhD in International and Strategic Management. He completed his MBA in International Business at Carleton University, Canada in 2006 with a Distinction grade. Reza also awarded a Distinction grade for his BSc (Hons) in Industrial Management from the University of Tehran, Iran. Prior to becoming an academic he worked as a management consultant, managing director, head of research and quality assurance in the biggest ICT Company in Iran, and a senior international auditor in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000). Reza has published two books and nine papers as conference proceedings, which are mainly focused on modeling “Business Success” as well as “Strategy Implementation”.
Mrs. Isobel Wood
Isobel Wood gained her B.Sc.(Hons) degree in Business Studies from the University of Ulster; her M.Sc. in Business Psychology at London Metropolitan University; is now a PhD Candidate studying “Motivation in the Workplace” at London Metropolitan University.
Isobel is an accomplished executive with over 25 years experience in Business Management & Strategy.
Has a proven ability to develop and implement strategies that support business and financial objectives; and is recognized as a professional with broad business experience and ability to apply financial and people management concepts to asset management decisions.
A proven track record in Lecturing and Training: Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Professional Level.
Isobel is also a Business Psychologist and HRM Consultant to a 3rd Sector IT training Organisation.
Mr. Mark T Jones
Mark T Jones is a fervent internationalist, who is widely travelled. He has had a distinguished career in education and currently serves as the Director of External Affairs for Park Royal College. In the year 2000 he initiated and oversaw a major humanitarian venture into war-torn Sierra Leone, and then spent two years in the Middle East where he worked in Jordan (2002 – 2004). He writes and speaks on a variety of subjects ranging from corporate governance to women’s health in the developing world.
As well as being an orator of distinction Mark believes that it is essential that we articulate our convictions with passion; in this regard he is eager to help the voice of others to be heard. He is a Legislative Leadership Training specialist, as well as being an advisor on Diaspora community engagement.
He is the Co-Founder & Executive Director of the Horn of Africa Business Association (HABA) as well as sitting on the Board of the Kitenge Africa Foundation (Uganda), the Advisory Committee of the Expertise Forum (A Think Tank Society focusing on the Sustainable Development of South Asian Countries) and being Chair of Trustees of Daughters of Eve. In 1994 he was elected a Freeman of the City of London, and is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
Mr. Maurice Dimmock
Maurice Dimmock has worked in further and Higher education most of his life, being an Assistant Principal in a large FE college and the Director of International Development at one of the UK largest Universities. Mr Dimmock has also been a World bank consultant for the last 25 years advising on Education Development in Thailand, Malaysia, Egypt and Vietnam.
His specialism is in developing Higher Education Infrastructure operating under SMART guidelines. Recently, he has been working in Malaysia developing new Teacher Training methodologies in the Higher Education Sector.
At present he is the CEO of the ASIC Group of companies which include QISAN, ASIC UK, ASIC Global and ASIQUAL. His emphasis is on developing high quality institutions of higher learning, offering high quality meaningful , industry relevant programs of study.
Dr. John Howells
John Howells is the Director of IS&S Consultancy business and former Technical Director & European Key Accounts at 3M Company. He has extensive general management experience in R&D, Manufacturing and Corporate Quality across a number of market sectors; with a focus on strategy, innovation, change, technology, competitiveness and ‘corporate differentiation’. He has experience in building organisational innovation (processes, leadership & culture), TQM leadership and project management across a wide / diverse industries and markets. He also represented 3M in interviews with the media (BBC Radio, BBC Television (Breakfast TV and BBC Wales) CBI, DTI, IOD, Observer, Financial Times, Sunday Times).
John has a wide range of experience in building an Innovation Centre, Networks & Alliances with companies and universities. He headed up the annual UK Innovation Survey which 3M funded for the CBI and the Design Council.
John has a PhD in Physical Chemistry and a Diploma in Business Management. He has studied at the London Business School on Strategic Planning & Senior Management Leadership. He is also a corporate leader & assessor for the USA ‘Malcolm Baldridge’ TQM award.
John in recent years has concentrated on university lecturing on MBA & MSc studies (Technology Strategy and Innovation Management, Financial Justification of Technology at Warwick IMC, Change Management, Innovation & Technology Strategy, Project Management, Innovation Management, Managerial Problem Solving, Complexity & Chaos Theory). He has supervised dissertation on all above plus Supply Chain & Logistics, Global Businesses and International
Mr. Jim Grover
Jim Grover has worked for more years than he cares to share with you, that work being exclusively in the service industries.
His qualifications, apart from a Bronze Medal in Lifesaving, are in English, the visual and performing arts, and teaching.
Work has ranged from (this is not a complete list) the Civil Service in RAM College pathology laboratories, Mental Health nursing with the NHS; motor, general and life insurance and the broader financial services; owning and running a gourmet restaurant; owning and running a village mini-market.
In education (also not a complete list) the spectrum runs from teaching Basic Skills to people with learning difficulties, ESOL (all levels), Key Skills (FE), Performing Skills (HE), various Master-classes, English for IELTS and English Communication, Research Skills for postgraduate studies and EAP (all levels). He has been with LSBM since 2007 and Academic Programmes Manager since 2010.
He prefers to forget most of the above, usually describing himself as a performed playwright with a Bronze Medal in Lifesaving.
