LSBM Foundation Programme

Programme overview 

The LSBM Foundation Programme is a short but intensive six month programme, designed to bridge the divide between secondary school and university, and improve students' ability to cope with the academic demands on first year students. Students who do not meet LSBM ís academic entrance requirements are able to enrol on the LSBM Foundation Programme and make progress towards their desired qualification, by registering for the Foundation Programme and Diploma in Business or IT simultaneously. 

The LSBM Foundation Programme introduces students to:
  • Basic concepts in Information Technology, focusing in particular on end-user computing
  • Basic university math, which develops studentsí confidence to cope with quantitative modules such as economics, statistics, and financial management
  • Academic and Business English which helps students deal with the written and spoken demands that University programmes place on students.

  • Foundation Mathematics 
  • Academic & Business English
  • 2 modules from Diploma in Business or IT 

Academic progression

Students who do not meet LSBMís admission requirements, are able to register for their desired qualification, by commencing with the LSBM Foundation Programme. Students will as part of their Foundation studies take two courses from their desired qualification, in addition to three Foundation modules. 

After the Foundation programme is complete, students will have already covered two of the four modules required for their first term. Students will then progress to their second term, enrolling for four to six modules. 

 

Entry Requirements

  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate;
  • A minimum IELTS score of 4.5 or equivalent is required.
