Director of Teaching, Learning and Assessment

Location: London (Bloomsbury)

Salary:  £30,000 to £36,000

The London School of Business and Management (LSBM) is a private Business College located in central London (Bloomsbury).  All our teaching is delivered at Birkbeck College, University of London.  We offer Edexcel (BTEC) HND programmes and undergraduate/postgraduate degree programmes in both Business and Computing.  We will be introducing Law programmes in 2014. 

We have recently developed a new Academic Strategy 2013-2016 which incorporates our teaching, learning and assessment strategy, and our new eLearning strategy.

We seek a Director of Teaching, Learning and Assessment to lead the further development and implementation of our teaching, learning and assessment strategy.  Implementation of our eLearning strategy will form a major part of the role, particularly in the early stages.   The postholder will be expected to ensure effective and pedagogically-sound usage of the Moodle VLE throughout the College.

You will hold a relevant postgraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification, three years’ experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level and evidence of teaching and learning innovation.  All candidates require prior course management experience, together with a HE teaching qualification or membership of the Higher Education Academy.  At least two years’ eLearning strategic development and implementation experience is essential.

Student Recruitment Manager (UK and EU Undergraduate)

Location: London (Bloomsbury)

Salary: £27,000 to £30,000 (plus performance related bonus of up to 20% salary)

The London School of Business and Management (LSBM) is a private Business College located in central London (Bloomsbury). All our teaching is delivered at Birkbeck College, University of London. Our undergraduate programmes are designated for funding through the Student Loans Company which entitles UK and EU students to apply for tuition fee loans and maintenance loans/grants. Our application for UCAS membership is being processed.

We seek a Student Recruitment Manager to develop and implement a strategy for the recruitment of UK and EU students onto our range of undergraduate programmes. The Manager will lead a team of four Student Recruitment Executives. The Manager will develop and implement a strategy which will, by September 2014, result in a significant increase in our recruitment of UK and EU A-Level (or equivalent) students onto our three-year university degree programmes. Experience of recruiting students through UCAS is therefore essential.

You will hold a relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification. You will have proven experience of developing and implementing strategies for the recruitment of undergraduate students from within the UK and EU, and you will have a successful track record of developing and implementing innovative activities to increase applications and subsequent conversion.
