LSBM Summer School in July

LSBM hosted a one week Summer School from 6th till 14th July.

Students from our partner institutions in South Africa, the Midrand Graduate Institute and CTI, participated in a weekly seminar leading to a Certificate in Principles of International Business. Their programme also included visiting famous sites in London, like the London Eye, Madame Tussaud’s, National History Museum, etc.

The students enjoyed a West End show and various other activities London has to offer. They left with a Certificate and a handful of experience that will be beneficial in their future.

A 360° picture of the Summer School group was taken at Russell Square after their classes. Follow the link to view it: www.classspin.com

Welcome to a new Student Services Coordinator
Ms. Anouska Bedford was recently appointed as the School’s new Student Services Coordinator. We would like to welcome her warmly to LSBM and wish her success in this challenging and rewarding position.
Anouska has a creative background (Ceramics) and has also recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. She enjoys watching film, dance, visiting exhibitions of painting, sculpture and design.
Anouska will help all current students with answering general non-academic enquiries.

She says:
“I will endeavour to help you to settle into life in London by assisting you in: finding accommodation, registering with a Doctor, applying for TFL discount Oyster card, setting up a bank account, and issues related to part-time employment.

I will also be organizing monthly student events, so remember to look on the notice board when you’re next in the office to see what’s planned.
When you arrive I will help you set up your library and computer account.

I’m enjoying the variety of duties which this role offers, and will be looking forward to meeting you all at the beginning of the new term.”

LSBM promotional trips to Nepal and Pakistan
In the month of July, LSBM Student Advisors travelled to Nepal and Pakistan to meet with prospective students and promote the School in these countries.

Melindi Britz visited Kathmandu and Pokhara where she gave numerous presentations and was interviewed by a local TV station. Melindi also gave a guest lecture at the Little Angel’s College – a Higher Education institution affiliated with Kathmandu University.

In the pictures below Melindi is visiting Nymph Nepal – LSBM Representative.

Matthew Gordon visited various cities in Pakistan including: Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Kotli (Azad Kashmir) and Mirpur (Azad Kashmir).

Matt gave presentations and interviewed students interested in studying at LSBM.

The tour was organised by BMZ – a trusted representative in Pakistan.

LSBM SCHOLARSHIP AND BURSARY winners selected

We are happy to announce that the winners of this year’s scholarship and bursary competitions have been selected. We would like to thank all students who took part in both competitions. The criteria were very strict and we received a number of applications.

After a careful consideration, the Scholarship Panel decided to award one Postgraduate scholarship and two bursaries.

The Scholarship winner is Sunny Lama from Nepal – congratulations! Sunny will join LSBM in September on the MBA programme.

The two bursaries (£500 off the tuition fee each) were awarded to Christina Kocisko, USA, and Krinam Shrestha, Nepal, both MBA students.

LSBM would like to congratulate all the winners and we look forward to welcoming them at LSBM in September.
