LSBM Summer School was promoted in South Africa

LSBM has an extensive network of academic partners, one of these being the CTI Education Group of South Africa. Katie Heriot Maitland, a representative of LSBM, had the pleasure of visiting 12 of their campuses last month in order to invite the South African students to take part in our LONDON SUMMER SCHOOL 2008. The students were very enthusiastic about the prospect of visiting the UK for a week in July, during which time they will not only get to see some of London’s major sights and attractions, but will also study towards a ‘Certificate in the Principles of International Business’. Following last year’s success we are looking forward to the July Summer School, and will take great pleasure in welcoming the South African students to our city.

LSBM Summer School is open to students from any country. For more information and an application form please click here.

LSBM visited Kazakhstan, Turkey and Poland

In the last two months Monika Popp, Student Advisor, visited three countries to promote undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered at LSBM.

Monika says:
My first trip was to Almaty, the biggest city of Kazakhstan. This 9th largest country in the world, situated in Central Asia, it has vast mineral resources and great potential for economic growth. Every year, more and more Kazakhstani students come to the UK in search for high quality education and LSBM is very keen on welcoming them to our school.

I attended the a2 Kazakhstan Fair at Atakent Expo, which was organised in partnership with ICC Plus. The event was very successful, with the MBA programme attracting most interest. During the fair, I was asked to present a seminar on: “Why earn a business degree in the UK” to a number of future Kazakhstani business professionals. I also gave a presentation at Miras International School.

The trip to Istanbul, Turkey also proved to be equally successful. LSBM already has some Turkish students on full-time and evening courses and our School is becoming more and more recognised in this country. I attended the a2 Fair and met with students at the Istanbul International Community School. New local partners, who will represent the School in Turkey, were also established.

At the end of April I visited Poland where I met with students from a number of secondary schools in Warsaw (the capital of Poland) and Lodz (the second biggest city). Polish students are very keen on studying in the United Kingdom as they recognise the value of British education.

I would like to thank all counsellors at schools and business partners for assistance in the organisation of my trips.

BOWLING TRIP for LSBM students

Bowling Trip

Earlier this month a group of LSBM students enjoyed an evening at Bloomsbury Lanes bowling alley.  This fifties-themed arcade proved to be the perfect location for a fun and relaxed event after what had been a very busy working week.

After a successful two rounds of bowling, the students took a short walk to the nearby University of London Student Union.  Here they were able to soak up the lively Friday evening atmosphere alongside their peers from various other colleges and universities in the area.

Congratulations to Mohammed Al Gosaibi for his superb win!!
