CHARITY EVENT AT LSBM

In July, LSBM’s students and staff took part in a fund raising guessing game to raise money for the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund. Each participant had to guess the name of the Lennox teddy bear. There were 30 possible options and each guess cost £1.00. We would like to thank everybody for raising money for this good cause.

NEW MSc INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PROGRAMME

Starting this September, LSBM will be offering a new 1 year Master of Science in International Business. This challenging programme is an attractive alternative to the traditional 2 year Masters of Science in International Management course currently on offer. Both have been developed by the world-renowned University of London, Royal Holloway that specialises in world-class academic research and delivery. Both courses lead to internationally recognised degrees from the University of London.

The one year MSc is an intensive programme that allows students to specialise in their chosen field at dissertation level and also provides an excellent background in modern international management, finance, marketing and many other areas. Flexible start dates allow students to begin their Masters course in September or January. To find out more about this exciting new Postgraduate programme, please contact us at: admissions@lsbm.org.uk.

LIFE AFTER LSBM

“… after successfully graduating from the Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies with LSBM, I was promoted to Retail Operations Manager.”

LSBM is always proud of our students’ achievements and progress in their professional life.

This article from our student, Antonio Sanchez who graduated in April 2007 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies, presents his career path and the company he is working for. Thank you Antonio for sharing your story with us!

AUCTIONING 4 U LIMITED

Non-traditional businesses such as eBay give access to a worldwide marketplace with over 200 million customers in 33 countries. In the UK alone there are 12 million potential buyers who spend on average £20million per day! This represents a huge, and still largely untapped, opportunity for businesses to significantly improve revenues of both 'new and 'problem' stock.

In general terms, the main idea is to help people throughout London and the UK sell their stuff on eBay, the world's largest online auction site. Individuals and companies can sell items via eBay without the hassle of writing descriptions, monitoring the online auction process or dealing with payments and shipping.

At Auctioning4u we specialise in multi-channel selling on platforms such as eBay and Amazon. We are the largest service provider of our kind in Europe and have a successful track record of helping our clients improve business performance. We can offer tailored, flexible solutions and work with small, medium and large organisations.

HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

I had 2 year’s work experience with a leading International trade company in my home country Peru, in Latin America. This gave me experience in dealing with clients including major brands in North America & Europe – connecting them to tradition markets and non-tradition markets. In addition, I have an academic path including a specialised Marketing Degree, which lasted for 3 and a half years (Equivalent to BA Marketing) and now a DMS from LSBM.

I was hired by Auctioning4u in October ‘06 as an eBay Consultant for their Consumer division (London network). Then in May 2007, after successfully graduating from the Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies issued by LSBM, I was promoted to Retail Operations Manager.

My main duties include management of the operational issues of the consumer division, including our retail network (own branded Auctioning4u London drop-off shops), employees in the retail department (Shop managers & assistants), Home Collections division, Franchises and third party agreements.
