If you are currently studying at another school or have completed all or part of another degree you may be eligible to receive academic credit with LSBM for the work you have done. This process of awarding “Transfer Credit” is done through the Transfer Credit Award Committee which meets once every month to evaluate requests. If you believe you may have transferable credit then follow the process below:

1) Submit copies of your official transcripts along with your completed application package and a written request for transfer credit. Identify the courses for which you are requesting credit to be transferred from your previous institution to your LSBM programme.

2) The Transfer Credit Award Committee will evaluate your request using the following criteria;

  • a. the thoroughness of the request documentation; i.e. course/class descriptions, transcripts, college/university prospectus, etc.. Lack of appropriate documentation may cause your request to be denied or delayed.
  • b. academic standing of the institution originally awarding the credit
  • c. direct course equivalencies to the requested LSBM programme. Credit can only be awarded for modules which have an equivalent on the LSBM programme. No “Free” or “elective” credit is awarded.

The committee will respond to your request via the Admissions Office of LSBM within three working days of their meeting. Although requests are usually dealt with quickly you should allow up to four weeks after LSBM’s receipt of your application for the credit award process to be completed.

Transfer award credit will apply to your academic record once your study with LSBM begins.

The maximum allowable transfer credit award may vary from programme to programme and there may or may not be a related reduction in tuition fees.
